Gurnee Funeral Home - About Us
Salata Gurnee Funeral Home - Over 40 years of Community History
John and Loretta (nee Therry), born in Waukegan, IL, were long time sweethearts; having gone thru grade school, high school and marrying in 1961. They have endured a 63 year relationship. They have four children, Christine, Bonnie, John III and Katie. Both John III and Katie are licensed funeral directors. Together John and Loretta developed the only family owned and operated funeral home in Gurnee, Illinois. They are deeply committed and are always available, 24 hours a day...as they live on the premises. In 1971 John Salata and his wife Loretta had made a commitment after they purchased and remodeled the residential home on historic Old Grand Avenue... to provide caring, considerate and dedicated service.
